Students! If you want to purchase tickets for the Homecoming Dance or Prom for the school year you must first complete the clearance process - students must be approved by the dean's office that they meet behavior and attendance criteria, and they must also have satisfied all debt to the school, including technology fees.
To initiate the clearance process, complete the linked Google Form below along with your parent, as their permission is part of the form. You will receive an email when your clearance is approved or if there are outstanding items you need to take care of before being cleared.

The first senior meeting will be on TBD in the Pirate Theater starting at TBD. At this meeting we discuss IMPORTANT information including, but not limited to:
- Prom
- Grad Bash
- Panoramic Picture
- Cap and Gown Orders / Delivery Date
- Senior Pictures

- Yearbook
- Graduation Ceremony
- Other Possible Event

Senior Day Pick Up
Senior Day Pick up of the extra items that you have ordered will be on Monday, September 22, 2025 in the Lower Spot during both lunches.
Cap and Gown Pick-Up
The date to pick up this year's graduation Cap and Gowns is April 6, 2026. The pick up location will be in the lower spot in the bus loop during both lunches.

Grad Bash
The senior trip to Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure will take place this year on April 30th, 2026.
Trip Information:
Permission Slip can be printed from here or paper copies can be picked up in outside the SGA Room, 6-241.- No more than 15 unexcused absences for the year on the day of the trip. (and you MUST be in school on trip date)
- No Out of School Suspensions
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (Must be on track to Graduate)
- School debts and financial obligations must be cleared (check with bookkeeper in the front office)
Purchasing a Ticket:
- Seniors must have permission slips signed by parent or guardian (due to being an overnight trip.)
- Tickets will go on sale on TBD at 7:35am in room 6-241
- Price for Grad Bash TBD
- There are NO refunds on Grad Bash tickets.
- There are only 3 buses reserved which limits us to 140 seniors.
- We are accepting cash, check or card for this trip.
- The permission slips are available for pick up outside the SGA Room 6-241.

Register to participate in the 'Walk the Halls' event, an opportunity for students to visit their elementary school! Please review this information in its entirety before signing up. Deadline to register: May 12th.
- Students must have an MHS photo ID in order to enter the Elementary schools. This may be in digital or physical form.
- Students must be approved on the RSVP list. The Dean's office will review the list and reach out to those individuals that are not allowed to attend due to discipline.
- Students must be in cap and gown in order to participate.
- Students may sign up to attend 1-2 schools.
- Students must have their own transportation to and from the elementary schools.
- Only current Flagler Schools students are invited to participate in this event.

Regalia
Honor cords, stoles, medallions, or school related awards are the only things to be worn on top of your gown. All regalia must be received from and approved by Matanzas High School. Students can only wear honors cords, medals, and/or stoles that are distributed and/or approved by Matanzas High School and Flagler Schools. Please visit the Graduation Regalia page to view the district policy.
Graduation Attire
Graduates are not allowed to decorate caps. Please refrain from putting anything on top of your caps.
There are no color restrictions. Please wear a clean and appropriate outfit. Please plan to wear a button up dress shirt or blouse, dress pants or a skirt, a dress or a pants suit, tie or a bowtie, dress shoes (no sneakers or flip flops). Heels are not required.

Ticket Distribution Process
Seniors will get their first 5 tickets on TBD.Extra tickets will be available at graduation practice for those who still need tickets.
There are approximately 100 tickets available on the day of graduation at the Ocean Center on a first-come first-served basis for those families who have extra family members attending.

Rehearsal will be on May 26th in the Gym (arrive at 8:30 am to find your seats).
Graduation practice is mandatory for all MHS graduates. At the end of the practice, seniors will have the opportunity to:
- Buy Parking Passes for Graduation
- Pick up any extra tickets they may need (depending on the amount remaining)
- Pick up any caps and gowns they have not received yet.
If transportation is an issue please contact your senior advisor to make arrangements to ride the bus. Please dress school appropriately, caps and gowns do not need to be worn but bring them for Walk the Halls of Matanzas.
Walk the Halls of Matanzas
At the end of practice Matanzas will host a "Walk the Halls of Matanzas" event for our seniors. Seniors who would like to participate should have their cap and gown with them, and will have time to put them on before the Walk the Halls event. -
Date and Time
Graduation will be held on May 31st @ 2:00 pm . Procession will begin at 1:45 pm.
Location
Graduation will take place Daytona Beach Ocean Center. Please plan to arrive early. Graduates should report to the expo hall on the west side of the building, and spectators should report to the arena.
The Ocean Center requires everyone who needs a seat to have a ticket (infants do not need a ticket). Tickets are limited. Graduates do not need a ticket. If you have any questions about who needs a ticket and who does not or about specific seating questions please contact the Ocean Center.Bags
Seniors are not allowed to carry anything under or over their gowns. Please refrain from bringing anything. Every ticket holder, including children, may carry an approved clear bag or a clutch purse. One clear bag no larger than 12”x6”x12” or a one-gallon clear “Ziploc”-style bag. One small clutch bag or purse no larger than 6.5”x6.5”, with or without a strap. Diapers and wipes may be carried in a clear bag; however, diaper bags are not permitted.
Additional clothing, blankets, etc. are allowed, as long as they are carried loosely; preferably over the shoulder so they can get through screening faster or in an approved clear bag. Small cameras, binoculars, and cell phones may be carried loosely or in an approved clear bag. Balloons and large items will not be allowed in the Ocean Center. Please leave those in the car or at home to celebrate after the ceremony. Flowers will be allowed.
Ocean Center security measures will be in place for all Flagler Schools graduations.

The Florida Seal of Biliteracy recognizes and awards a high school graduate who has received a high level of competency in the four language domains; listening, speaking, reading, and writing in one or more foreign languages as well as English. View the requirements and qualifications here.

Florida Seal of Fine Arts Program recognizes high school graduates who have met exemplary benchmarks in fine arts coursework. The purpose of the Florida Seal of Fine Arts Program is to encourage students to develop an exemplary level of proficiency in the performing or visual arts.
